No Veteran Left Behind: Housing for Women Heroes

Dear Friends, Supporters, and Fellow Patriots,

My name is Getzie Lamar, and I am honored to be a Top 20 Finalist in the Ms. Veteran America 2024 competition. This incredible journey has not only been about representing the strength, resilience, and dedication of women veterans like myself but also about making a meaningful impact in the lives of those who have served our country.

As a proud Marine Corps veteran, I know firsthand the challenges many women veterans face when transitioning to civilian life. Among the most heartbreaking is homelessness. Final Salute, Inc., a nonprofit organization, is dedicated to providing safe and suitable housing for homeless women veterans and their children. This cause resonates deeply with me, as I've experienced transitional housing and understand how crucial it is for these brave women to have a stable, secure place to call home.

I am committed to raising $50,000 to support Final Salute, Inc., which can provide housing for homeless women veterans at just $25 a day. Your generous donations will go directly towards ensuring that these veterans have a roof over their heads, a place to rebuild, and the opportunity to regain their dignity and independence.

Here's how your donation will be used by Final Salute, Inc.:

Transitional Facility Operating Cost:

$25 daily per woman Veteran (includes housing, case management, food, clothing, transportation, in-house financial education and counseling, and others essential services)
$5,000 monthly for transitional housing facility ($60,000 annually)
No more than 10% of every dollar goes towards admin costs.
