On behalf of residents of the Littlepace/Castaheany area, we are fundraising to appeal the installation of a telecoms mast at Littlepace Shopping Centre.

The mast at 18 metres tall is visually obtrusive, being far taller than any surrounding structure. It is located at the hub of our community, adjacent to a school, crèche, nursing home, church and private homes.

The mast was erected without consultation with residents and parents of the school and creche-going children.

The location was not a 'last resort' and the pre-planning process appears to have focused on only one alternative location (between the Paddocks and the bus stop). There are errors within the planning documentation which suggest that the planning may have been rushed through without full consideration given to the location.

There is ongoing scientific debate and concern regarding the potential health effects of 5G mast exposure.

The funds will cover an appeal to Fingal County Council (€220) and legal advice (solicitor) in advance of the appeal. Should there be any unused funds, they will be donated to the local Croí Mháire food bank.
