A gas station @ Brosterhous & Murphy is…

 

Not the type of commercial development we want.

SE Bend needs a gathering place. Food trucks, small grocery, coffee shop and the like will be welcomed & supported.

A gas station is not compatible with the shopping and service needs of nearby residents.

 

Not safe for our kids.

A gas station would bring too much traffic, putting our kids in harms way especially as they walk/bike to school.

Convenience stores/gas stations are popular targets for crime and loitering.

The gas station and its unhealthy fumes, tanks & refilling trucks will be too close to homes, schools & parks.

 

Not needed.

There are 8 other gas stations on the way to where we want to go and they all have capacity for more customers.

There is a place for gas stations in SE Bend and it’s called 3rd Street.

 

A congestion creator.

Increased traffic risks slowing emergency vehicles making their way from the fire station on Country Club.

Entering/exiting the gas station will create congestion at the roundabout and in adjacent neighborhoods.

Awkward lot shape will create congestion within the property if vehicle oriented & dependent uses are permitted.

 

NO gas pumps NO drive throughs!

NO vehicle-dependent or vehicle-oriented uses!

NO Conditional Use Permit!
