Hi, my name is Robbie Bahr, a lifelong Clinton area resident and former owner of The Pig Pen Concert Venue. Less than six weeks ago, I was like a lot of people, basically oblivious to the chaos and turmoil about to land on our doorstep: Iowa’s largest proposed Hyper Scale Data Center. When I learned the scale of what was being planned, I was shocked and frightened. At 1100 acres, the site is larger than Chicago’s Midway Airport. That realization pushed me into action right away. Through the NO DATA CENTERS CONCERT, I am helping lead a free concert and peaceful protest to raise awareness, bring neighbors together, and make sure local voices are heard before it is too late.
In just one week, the response online has been overwhelming, and that support is fueling this effort to keep going. Everyone involved in this concert and protest is donating their time, talent, and energy to one shared goal: protecting the Clinton community and stopping this proposed project. Even with so many people stepping up, there are still real costs to make this event and outreach possible. Funds from this fundraiser will help cover concert expenses, yard signs, security, large sound and lights, insurance, venue rental, and radio advertising.
If support goes beyond those immediate needs, the extra funds will help take the ground game even further with more outreach and, if possible, a large billboard near the entrance to town. I want everyone to know that every single penny will be documented with receipts and put right into action. Please consider giving whatever you can and sharing this fundraiser with others. Whether you can give $5, $100, or another amount, every contribution will help us mount our strongest effort yet. Thank you so much for standing with me and the Clinton community. There is so little time, and every bit of support truly matters.
