Mahmoud Abu Qaraya ha 29 anni ed è un fotografo e videomaker di Gaza.
Da due anni mesi documenta attraverso il suo profilo Ig la vita sotto assedio in Palestina.

A Settembre 2025 ha iniziato la sua collaborazione con il fotografo vesuviano tylerdurdan*, creando il progetto “Between Gaza and Naples – A Childhood Story”, pubblicato su Elle Italia, Escape Vision, Collateral, PhotoJournalism Hub e in varie mostre in Italia e in Europa.
Sono le ultime fotografie scattate a Gaza prima dell’evacuazione.
Pochi giorni dopo, Mahmoud e 22 membri della sua famiglia sono stati costretti a fuggire verso il Sud di Gaza.
Oggi vivono in una tenda, senza elettricità stabile, senza reddito, senza sicurezza.
E nonostante tutto, Mahmoud continua a fotografare.
Continua a raccontare storie, a documentare il suo popolo, a dare voce a chi non ne ha.
Il suo lavoro è appena stato accolto da ZUMA Press (USA), una delle più importanti agenzie di fotogiornalismo indipendente al mondo.
Un riconoscimento enorme, che può dare a Mahmoud un futuro professionale reale.
Ma adesso, nel presente, la situazione è durissima:
vive in una tenda con 22 familiari, non ha accesso a un lavoro, non ci sono entrate economiche, il cibo scarseggia, l'acqua pulita è limitata, la connessione costa e spesso non funziona, non può uscire da Gaza.
Questa raccolta fondi serve a sostenere Mahmoud e la sua famiglia nell'emergenza, permettendogli di:
- acquistare cibo, acqua e beni primari
- mantenere una connessione, essenziale per il suo lavoro
- comprare batteria, powerbank e strumenti base per continuare a fotografare
- garantire un minimo di sicurezza ai bambini della famiglia continuare il suo lavoro come fotografo indipendente.
Ogni donazione, anche minima, va direttamente a lui.

Mahmoud ha documentato Gaza per il mondo.

Mahmoud Abu Qaraya is 29 years old and a photographer and videomaker from Gaza.
For the past two years, he has been documenting life under siege in Palestine through his Instagram account.
In September 2025, he began collaborating with Vesuvian photographer tylerdurdan*, creating the project “Between Gaza and Naples – A Childhood Story”, published in ELLE Italia, Escape Vision, Collateral, PhotoJournalism Hub, and featured in several exhibitions across Italy and Europe.
These are the last photographs taken in Gaza before the evacuation.
Just a few days later, Mahmoud and 22 members of his family were forced to flee to the south of Gaza.
Today they live in a tent, without stable electricity, without income, without safety.
And despite everything, Mahmoud continues to take photographs.
He keeps telling stories, documenting his people, giving a voice to those who have none.
His work has just been welcomed by ZUMA Press (USA), one of the world’s leading independent photojournalism agencies.
This is a major recognition that could give Mahmoud a real professional future.
But right now, the situation is extremely difficult:
he lives in a tent with 22 family members, has no access to work, no income, scarce food, limited clean water, expensive and unstable internet, and no possibility of leaving Gaza.
This fundraiser aims to support Mahmoud and his family through this emergency, helping him to:
• buy food, water, and essential supplies
• maintain an internet connection, crucial for his work
• purchase batteries, power banks, and basic tools to continue photographing
• ensure a minimum level of safety for the family’s children
• continue his work as an independent photographer
Every donation, even the smallest, goes directly to him.
We at Cleanap, together with tylerdurdan*, will personally handle the transfers and provide transparent reporting, as we have done in the past.
Mahmoud has documented Gaza for the world.
Now it’s our turn to document our support for him.
