My name is Cheyanne Struewe. Addie Ayers, Gianna Guerrero, Giovanna Guerrero, and I are working on a project with Northland CAPS. We have made this GoFundMe to raise money for Synergy Children’s Services in order to throw a holiday Christmas party for children in shelters and in need.
About Northland CAPS:
Northland Center for Advanced Professional Studies, also known as Northland CAPS, is an opportunity for high school students all around the Northland region of Kansas City. It allows high school students to have educational experiences in high-demand, high-skill careers that will rapidly accelerate students down their chosen career path.
More about Our Team:
Cheyanne Struewe:
I am 17 years old and a senior at Platte County High School, and I attend the Northland CAPS program. I am a part of the Medicine and Healthcare strand. I am looking for opportunities in the healthcare field. I plan to start attending college in the fall of 2026. I want to major in Pre-Med and Nursing to eventually become a worker in the healthcare industry.
Addie Ayers:
I am a senior at Platte County, and I am starting to explore opportunities to advance my career in the healthcare industry through Northland CAPS. I am excited to start learning how to take care of others and make an impact on my community. I am also looking to attend college in the fall of 2026. I want to major in Biology on the Pre-Med track to eventually become a healthcare worker!
Gianna Guerrero:
I’m a 17-year-old student at Oak Park High School and part of the Northland CAPS Medicine and Healthcare strand. I plan to graduate in the spring of 2026, go to a two-year community college that fall, and then transfer to a four-year university to finish my education there.
Giovanna Guerrero:
I am a 17-year-old student at Oak Park High School and a part of the Northland CAPS Medicine and Healthcare strand. I plan to graduate in the spring of 2026, then attend a community college for two years before transferring to a university in the fall of 2026 to complete my next two years.
We are so excited to be a part of this project to help people in need and to help them experience the Christmas experience that we do.
Why should you donate?
We have chosen to create this GoFundMe to help the children who are worried that Santa won’t be able to find them because they don’t have a home. While many of us are out planning holiday dinners and unwrapping presents, several families and children right here in our community are hoping for a roof over their heads. As the Christmas season comes, this time can feel like a heartbreaking reminder to them of what they have lost, don’t have, or have never had. Our goal is to raise money in order to throw a holiday Christmas party for these children.
Where would your money go?
With the money donated to us, we will use it to throw a holiday party for these children. The holiday party will consist of interactive games and activities for the children, like Holiday Bingo, Gingerbread House decorating, Snowball Toss, and Minute to Win It games. Each child will receive a personally crafted goody bag at the end of the night that consists of homemade snacks, activities, and more. The money will also go to purchasing gifts they have asked for and new holiday PJs. Any money that is left over will be donated to Synergy Services since they are a non-profit organization.
