Help Me Reunite with My Children After Escaping Domestic Violence
In 2023, I made the hardest decision of my life—to leave my children with my sister-in-law while I escaped a violent and abusive relationship. For years, I endured unimaginable abuse, including being stabbed and beaten. I knew that if I didn’t leave, I might not survive.
I wanted to do everything the right way, so I followed the legal process and fought for custody of my children in Tennessee. After a long battle, the case was dismissed in March 2024, and my husband and I were granted 50/50 custody. But before I could even begin to reunite with my children, my husband and his sister went to Virginia—without my knowledge—and filed for full custody. They falsely claimed that I had abandoned my children and never told me about the court dates. Because I wasn’t there to defend myself, they were awarded full custody.
When I found out what had happened, I immediately appealed the case, and now I am fighting for my children in Virginia. A Guardian Ad Litem has already visited my home in New York and confirmed that it is a safe and loving environment, but I need a strong attorney to help me navigate the legal system and answer the judge’s questions. The truth is, if I hadn’t left, I might not be alive to tell this story.
I am raising $5,000 to retain a lawyer who can help me bring my children home. Any amount you can donate will make a difference in this fight for justice. If you’re not able to donate, please share my story so I can have the chance to be with my children again.
Thank you for your kindness and support—it means everything to me.
