fb.me/ /fadefactoryarson. A second generation black owned business barbershop and building was torched to the ground two nights ago as part of The Minneapolis arson’s.
The owner is distraught trying to piece his lives work back together.
As a child growing up in the North Minneapolis projects Ray recalls back in the ninteys Coming to sweep the floors for his Aunt Dorthys barber shop. Dorothy was the former owner of the building. The price he was paid free hair cuts, the name of the business then was MrAfros.
With great pride Ray tells the story that Mr. Afros was the second Black owned barbershop in North Minneapolis . As he was sweeping the floors watching his auntie cut hair he vowed to himself I am gonna own this business one day.
Eight years ago that dream finally became reality when Ray was able to buy the building on payments from his aunt Dorthy.
But just buying the building wasn’t enough for Ray, Once he took ownership he completely remodeled the building and made it a beautiful gem in the north side, Spending his life savings.
This is a tragic story of a man with a family who sacrificed for the last 7 years to completely remodel the building because believes in his community.
All of that hard work meant nothing to the individual, or individuals with displaced anger who ultimately took it out On the very people they were supposed to be representing minorities!
Ray was busy with his family when he got the dreadful call from his employee Trevon that his barber shop was on fire.
He rushed over there to see it completely destroyed.
Please help this black owned multi geneaniotal small business rebuild!! /wcco /fade factory / Erin Hassanzadeh Journalist Minneapolis, Minnesota
