South Africa - Nkosi's Haven
Donation protected
Hi my name is Tahlia and my friends and I are going to run a Spartan Race to raise money for Nkosi's Haven in South Africa.
Nkosi's is where mums (with HIV/AIDS) can live with their children (some children are sick too). And if their mum passes away - these children can live at Nkosi's, be looked after and cared for, until they reach 18.
Nkosi’s is named after Nkosi Johnson, the young AIDS activist who passed away on International Children’s Day on June 1st 2001, who dearly wanted a facility that would care for the mum and her child.
He had been separated from his mum because of the HIV diagnosis and he never wanted that to happen to any other child.
He also wanted HIV positive people to be cared for without discrimination or prejudice.
There are lots of renovations that need to be done to make it comfortable, safe and reliable for these kids to live in.
Please help me raise lots of money - and I promise to run hard and succeed with every obtacle thrown at me!!
