Lu and I have been called on by the ancestors to bring in new life together! We’re honored, humbled, completely in utter love and surrender to this miracle. We invite you our extended community to join us in receiving this being by sending prayers, signing up to donate hand me downs, and/or donating to this GoFundMe to support us in covering the many expected and unexpected bills that are coming our way. 

This child is asking that we live into our dream of village restoration now given what an anti-parent capitalistic individualistic colonial world we find ourselves in. Capitalism will have us thinking this child is “ours” as if beings are property to be owned. We reject that notion. This child is of this Earth.  In Spanish to give birth we say to “dar a luz” which translates to “give light”. We are giving light because light gives us life, day after day and what other way to say thank you for this existence but to make our love echo into existence long after we lay down to rest.

Your donations will help us cover our BIPOC birthing team, BIPOC alternative health practitioners, medical bills, medicines, herbs, supplements and traditional postpartum home-cooked meals. 

 

We deeply believe this Spirit chose us but they have also chosen you. We invite you to journey on this rights of passage into becoming and continuing to be someone our baby elders can look up to, feel loved and protected and nurtured by. We hope you will feel inspired to step into this reorientation of who you will become with us, as parents, aunties, uncles, elders, mentors, cousins, godparents. And join us in this question of, “who do our little ones need us to be for them now in the name of love and life?”
