My husband, Nik, was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer almost four years ago. When we first received the news, our world was turned upside down. We were devastated, but we quickly decided to make the most of our time together by fulfilling his bucket list. We traveled to many parts of the world, cherishing every moment and adventure. As his health has changed, traveling has become more difficult and less important. Now, Nik wants nothing more than to spend time with the people he loves most.

Recently, while looking at our shared calendar, I noticed that Nik had added 'register for Father-Daughter dance.' Our daughter is now a young adult, but we have the sweetest memories of those special dances from years past. Nik would buy her corsages, take her to dinner, and even include our niece in the fun. I remember sneaking a peek from the auditorium door, watching them dance together. He's always been a wonderful dad, creating moments our family will never forget. Sadly, our church no longer hosts these dances, and I couldn't find any local events for him to attend.

I hope to make it open to all families, so others can share in the joy and love that these events bring.
