Nikki's New York Marathon - for Cystic Fibrosis

Hello, 

I have this excellent opportunity to combine my love of running with my PhD research and join the 'Breathe Team' in the New York Marathon. Before the marathon, I will attend the North American Cystic Fibrosis Conference to present my latest work.

 

Cystic fibrosis is the most common recessive, life-limiting genetic disorder. Multiple organs are affected, including the pancreas, intestines, reproductive system, sweat glands and lungs. Lung disease, caused by repeated cycles of inflammation and infection, is the major cause of morbidity and mortality in people with cystic fibrosis. 

 

All funds will be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Cystic Fibrosis SA, which are used to support those with cystic fibrosis, for research, drug development, and advancing care.
