Nikias hopes to help Puerto Rico

Back in mid-September of 2017, the island of Puerto Rico was struck by Hurricane Irma, and the much more powerful category 5 Hurricane Maria which hit the island head-on at full force. It has been more than 100 days since then and Puerto Rico still needs help.

Many Puerto Ricans are still trying to find a clean drink of water and find their way in the dark. That’s right, nearly 4 months later potable drinking water is difficult to attain and towns need rebuilding. The relief efforts MUST continue and I for one want to help. 

I will be joining my school and team mates this Spring Break (March 24-31) for a humanitarian service trip to Puerto Rico to provide some of the much-needed help repairing infrastructure. We plan to bring our laboring hands and supplies, lots of supplies like water filters, solar powered lights, solar powered fans and solar powered chargers to name a few.

Please help me help others by accomplishing this unique opportunity to learn to give back to those in need.
