Nico’s Holiday Costume Drive

My name is Brianna Castro and I’m lucky enough to have my hero as my baby brother.

When Nico was 5 years old he was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma, a form of brain cancer. I was 10 and watching your baby brother suffer weak, bald, and poked with needles out of a hospital bed is the most painful thing I truly wish no sibling, parent, or person has to experience. Nico is now 18 and I couldn’t be more blessed and grateful to God to have Nico here.

From the moment he entered the hospital, Batman was his favorite superhero, and always had so much positivity because he was “Batman”.

Batman doesn’t even know how much he saved my baby brother. So, for the past 14 years now our family has held yearly Halloween Costumes Drives for kids battling cancer in the hospital. For those who don’t get to be kids and are forced to be strong and live every day in fear of the next.

This year instead of posting flyers around and collecting cash, I am doing a go fund me to raise money so we can deliver Halloween supplies, and costumes to these sick children. 100% of all funds are making the holiday for them and their families less depressing. Children Hospitals get little to zero donations and need new unopened costumes/supplies because of sanitary mandates and risk of exposure. It is extremely expensive and families can’t afford to buy them themselves due to outrageous hospital bills.

Any contribution goes to helping a sick child battling cancer, and giving them the strength to keep fighting. Nico started this while he was battling Cancer and has gained so much recognition, and I want to continue to make a difference. $35 goes to a costume.

$10 goes for an accessory like a tiara or a cape.

Anything extra will go towards blankets, pillows, more costumes and Holiday themed supplies for them and their families. (For thanksgiving and Christmas/Holiday season)

This is not just for Halloween but with Halloween around the corner this is the perfect opportunity to give a sick child hope and remind them that they are a hero .
