In April 2025, our dear friend Nico experienced a sudden seizure while on the gym floor at work. He was rushed to the hospital, where he received devastating news: a brain tumor.

After further testing, doctors confirmed that Nico has a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer, and classified as Grade 4.

If you’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting, working with, or simply knowing Nico, you already know what an extraordinary person he is. Selfless, compassionate, and endlessly positive, Nico has spent his career as a personal trainer and strength coach helping others become the strongest versions of themselves. Youth, athletes, general fitness, and adults all the same. His passion for training is apparent every day.

He leads the Torque Powerlifting team, Humber College Powerlifting Team, and the Torque Adult Hockey Team. A true leader in every sense.

His dream of serving the community further led him to begin the process of becoming a police officer in Toronto, following in the footsteps of his older brother James.

Nico’s strength isn’t just in his spirit—it’s in his body too. Just last year, he competed in the Powerlifting World Championships in Las Vegas and proudly won the title of Junior World Champion representing Team Canada.

His resilience, drive, and discipline are unmatched—qualities he now brings to the biggest battle of his life.

The journey ahead is daunting. The travel time daily is 1.5hrs each way as Nico lives in Guelph, ON - but must now travel to Sunnybrook Hospital in downtown Toronto daily for treatment.

His family has stepped up in every way possible—adjusting their lives to support and transport him—but the financial toll is rapidly growing. Between medical expenses, travel costs, non-covered medications, and caregiving needs, the burden is immense.
