Nick P's Pals - Plymouth Run

Our fantastic Team of over 20 are participating in the Plymouth Run on Sunday 28th April 2024 (either the 5/10K or ½ Marathon – individual choice). In support of the Motor-Neurone Disease Association (MNDA), a charity focused on improving access to care, research and campaigning for people affected by Motor Neurone Disease. Please look out for us on the day in our MNDA running vests and T-shirts.

Motor Neurone Disease is not an especially rare disease with lifetime risk of 1 in 300 and 6 people are diagnosed each day, it affects 5,000 people in the UK at any one time. Recent awareness of the disease has rocketed helped by the publicity brought about by Rob Burrow, Kevin Sinfield and inspirational contributions of many others.

This is a charity dear to our hearts and we see this as an opportunity to contribute in a small way to the positive work of the charity. Nick Phillips was diagnosed with MND in October 2022. He is lucky that his disease progression is very slow as MND kills a third of people within a year and more than half within two years of diagnosis.
