Nick & Kyra's fire relief fund
Donation protected
My nephew Nick, his fiance Kyra, and their 1 year old son Emmett lost their home this afternoon to a fire.
They have had a rough year and now need some help. Having to move out of Vancouver to Poco for lower rent they thought they had found a lovely basement suite. A back yard to play in, close to parks, and more room for their new family.
The only problem turned out to be the land lady who did not seem interested in fixing or repairing anything. She had very loud kids, and controlled the heat, which she kept off all winter and they had to sleep under many blankets, and at times fully clothed. Not a good situation for a family with a young child. Finally the 1 year lease was almost up and they were getting ready to move into their new place in the next few weeks.
Only today a fire started in the wall, due to faulty wires (that they found out about a few weeks ago when the power went out and they had to call an electrician). However the land lady said it was fine. There is alot of smoke and water damage to their belongings, and the possibility of esbestos from the walls.
They are all safe and staying with family but do not have a home. The extent of the damage to their items is unknown right now.
Please help get this young family back on their feet again.
