Kaylee’s Nicaragua Volunteer Program

Hi! Some of you may already know me, but for those who don't, my name is Kaylee Rocha. I am a 3rd-year University of Massachusetts Amherst student studying Wildlife Ecology and Conservation. I've created this fundraiser as a way to enable myself to have the chance to take my education further without being hindered by the financial barrier. I am a full-time student with a part-time job, so any help goes a long way.
I plan to volunteer through the Growth International Volunteer Excursions (GIVE) program. This program offers unique challenges where I can make a difference for wildlife and local communities.
I already submitted the downpayment to secure my place and am looking for help coming up with the rest of the trip costs. The funds gathered here will directly cover the costs of flights and trip fees.
The volunteer group I am signed up for runs from May 31st- June 12th in Nicaragua. This opportunity in Nicaragua allows me to help build sustainable homes alongside local families whose homes were displaced by rising sea levels. This trip also includes the restoration of mangrove forests and the opportunity to teach English to children in the rural fishing village of Jiquilillo.
If you are able, any help would be greatly appreciated - this volunteer experience means a lot to me, and I hope its mission resonates with you as well :) Below is a video on youtube covering the overall meaning behind the volunteer experience in Nicaragua. I am very excited to be a part of this community of purpose.
