NHS care worker with terminal cancer needs help.

Please help us raise the remaining £6,000 so that Fatima, a single mother who is terminally ill with cancer, can permanently reunite with her 3 children and make a better life for them in the UK.

Fatima Parkinson is a NHS care worker who came to the UK nearly 8 years ago on an ancestry visa, in order to support her children back in Zambia. During this time Fatima has been diagnosed with metastatic bone cancer, which has spread throughout her body. The crippling pain has meant Fatima can no longer work full time, which is a huge concern as she fully supports her three children in Zambia. The children are currently living with very distant relatives, but this is not sustainable. Fatima has a support network in the UK who can provide a stable environment for the children to thrive in.

With money raised in 2020 Fatima has been able to gain her British citizenship and apply for her children's settlement status. After the visa applications were initially rejected by the Home Office Fatima appealed and continued to fight for her children to be granted settlement status. On the 2nd February 2022 Fatima was finally notified that the settlement status has been granted! The long fight is over but Fatima still has to cover the costs of airfares from Zambia to the UK and initial setup costs involved in relocating the children and starting a new life in the UK. This is why we are asking for further support through this GoFundMe page.

Fatima has been through numerous sufferings in her life - from the death of her first born child, to being abandoned by her husband whilst pregnant with their third child, to fighting through breast cancer. In all of this she has learnt to push through and remain strong for her children. Through all of the craziness of the Pandemic, including undergoing further radiotherapy treatment, Fatima has continued to work and push through to the goal of being reunited with her children and spending the remaining time they have together as a family. I understand that this is a time of financial hardship for many, but if you could spare any money, regardless of how little, it would be life-changing for Fatima and her children. If you are unable to contribute financially, please share this post.

Together we are helping this family have a better future.Thank you for your support.
