We are a group of residents fighting to keep the Queen's Park Glasshouse in Glasgow open and under public ownership. Our goal is simply to cover the running costs of the campaign with an ongoing fundraiser.

In June, it emerged that Glasgow City Council intended to close Glasshouse on August 12th, 2026, due to "unsustainable costs". Since then, the administration has gone back and forth on their plans, from a permanent closure, to closed-door negotiations with commercial parties, to a temporary closure, to seeking funds for the restoration of the dome. We have received communication that GCC now intend to keep the Glasshouse open for the foreseeable future. However, a public announcement on the situation is yet to be released, there are no evident plans for public consultations on the fate of the glasshouse, and we do not know whether this is a temporary measure or how the building will be used in the future.

We are fundraising to keep our campaign going as the future of the Glasshouse is anything but certain. Funds will be used to purchase and print campaign materials like posters, banners, flyers, information sheets, and facilitate any other campaign-related activities.
