Loss of home
Donation protected
On October 7, at approximately midnight, the back part of our grandparents building caught fire while everyone slept. This fire spread across the building which caused the home to be unlivable. Fortunately, everyone survived except for our aunt’s beloved pet Blanquito, who was 14 years old. He was stuck in a room that was unreachable because of the smoke and flames.
For the past 34 years, this building has been called home by the Alonso family, headed by Jose (85yo) and Delfina Alonso (81yo). The memories we’ve created here over the years have been core memories. Our grandparents, their youngest daughter Estela with her family, and youngest son Sergio were living there.
Based on previous break-ins into their home and garage, our grandparents were neglected by home insurance carriers. So unfortunately, they didn’t have insurance for the building due to these previous claims.
The ultimate goal is to rebuild this beloved building that holds dear to our hearts. At this time we would greatly appreciate any support from family and friends. We thank you for your generosity in advance.
