Why support this garden?
Newkirk Community Garden is in a neighborhood where access to public green space ranks next to last in the entire city in terms of number of residents who live more than a quarter mile away from a park. That’s why we are revitalizing the garden at Newkirk Avenue and East 8th Street in Brooklyn for our neighborhood. By improving access to the garden, people create deeper connections with each other and with the neighborhood.
Help us make 2020 happen
We are seeking to complete the renovation of our garden space - we are 80% of the way there! - as well as cover the costs of our insurance, which our grant from the Citizens Committee of New York does not cover. To do this, we need $3,000.
In October, we held an open garden day that attracted 300 diverse neighborhood residents. Now, we need to get the garden ready for them in 2020! Please support us with a donation - big or small, any support you can give is appreciated.

Who are we?
Newkirk Community Garden is a community led and supported project, funded by the Pakistani American Youth Society. We are also recipients of a Citizens Committee of New York grant. The garden is located at the corner of Newkirk Avenue and East 8th Street in Brooklyn New York. Take a virtual tour via google maps !
