In Support of the RVI Children's Cancer Ward

Join us for our annual charity football match and family fun day, where Newcastle takes on Sunderland, all in aid of the Children’s Cancer Ward at the Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI), Newcastle.

In Loving Memory of Matt Hall

Diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia on 10th March 2023 at just 20, Matt faced 18 months of intense treatment with remarkable strength and courage.

Tragically, he passed away on 31st August 2024, aged 21.

This year’s fundraiser is dedicated to Matt – a brave young man whose legacy inspires us to support others battling this disease.

Through this event, we honour his memory by continuing the fight against childhood cancer and giving back to the place that helped so many — including Matt and families like his.

Supporting Brave Little Fighters Like Finley

We’re also deeply moved by the story of Finley Robson from Chester-le-Street. Just after his first birthday, Finley was rushed to the RVI and diagnosed with Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumor (ATRT) — a rare and aggressive brain cancer.

He began chemotherapy on June 30th beginning a journey that no child should ever have to face. Finley’s strength and the incredible care from the RVI team are why we’re raising funds — to ensure that every child receives the best possible chance at life.

A portion of the money raised this year will go directly to supporting a child currently undergoing treatment — bringing a little comfort and joy when they need it most.

When: 12pm Saturday August 2nd

(Football match kicks off at 2pm)
