For some Job Corps trainees, the holidays are not a time of family gatherings or home-cooked meals. A few of these wonderful young people remain on-center due to housing instability, financial barriers, or lack of a safe place to return to. During a season that means connection for their peers, they often feel increased isolation and loneliness.
This fundraiser supports a New Year’s Community Dinner & Reflection for Job Corps trainees who remain on campus during the holidays. The evening is designed to offer warmth, dignity, and hope through shared food, reflection, creativity, and spiritual grounding. Participants will enjoy a tranquil dinner, herbal tea, music, and a welcoming space. Gentle yoga and guided meditation will help reduce stress, while guided journaling and professional coaching will support them in clarifying their goals for the year ahead. Interfaith prayers and reflection will focus on hope and renewal, helping each participant feel lighter, more connected, and clearer about their next steps.
Funds raised will provide the New Year’s dinner, modest stipends for facilitators in wellness, coaching, and creative arts, journals and reflection materials, snack packs to bring back to their rooms, and a follow-up visit from a life coach.
This is just an evening but the desire of the planners is that this will be an evening that will support the realization of their boundless potential. Thank you for being part of this evening.
