Hi, my name is Brian Pankratz and I recently visited a rural village of Adavasi people (India’s First People’s) by invitation of the chief and village elders. It was the kind of rural village that is forgotten by the national government. It was so rural that they had never seen a white person before. They graciously invited me to visit and when I asked them what they need they told me they need a new well. Their existing well is making people sick and it’s a long walk to the nearest well. I requested that they get a quote for the total cost of the project, which they soon did. The workers are ready to bore the new well, to a depth of about 200 feet.
Clean drinking water is important, and something we might take for granted.
