Marlow FM is a local community radio station run completely by volunteers.
Thanks to a lot of fundraising efforts and many generous donations from the local community we were able to move into our fabulous studios at Great Marlow School in July 2024.
Unfortunately, running a radio station is an expensive business. We have regular bills to pay for everything from music licensing to electricity for the FM transmitter.
Why should you help keep us on-air?
We at Marlow FM are passionate about our community, and provide what we think is a much valued service.
Our schedule of programmes is varied, and ranges from our popular Breakfast and Drivetime shows, to specialist music shows and programmes that cover local, environmental, health, business, and consumer issues. There’s something for everyone.
We also do many successful outside broadcasts each year, bringing local events to the homes of those who cannot attend in person - events such as the Marlow Town Regatta and Festival, the local Remembrance Sunday service, and the Christmas lights switch-on.
We've collaborated with local initiatives, such as Meals from Marlow, and we won an award for our work on Marlow’s Quiet Night In during lockdown.
We’re also a voice for national initiatives, such as Fighting With Pride, and have helped to raise the profile of hundreds of charities and fundraising events in our local area and beyond.
Marlow FM is keen to give people an opportunity to learn the craft of radio broadcasting and production, and we’re so proud of several of our alumni who have gone on to work in the media industry.
We have a loyal local following, but we also reach people around the world, and have friends who regularly tune in online or listen on our fabulous homemade app. Listeners can also go to our website and listen again to anything they’ve missed.
So, yes, we’re proud of our station, and all it’s achieved so far, but we want to do so much more. We’re keen to work with more young people than we can at the moment, and give them a real insight into the wonderful world of radio broadcasting. Being based at Great Marlow School makes this easier for us, benefiting not only the pupils here, but all young people in the local area who are keen to get involved.
So please help us keep going by donating here and spreading the word to all your contacts.
We’re so grateful to all our supporters, and we look forward to continuing to serve our local community for many more years to come.
