New Studios for Marlow FM

Donation protected
Marlow FM is a local community radio station run completely by volunteers. Our current studio building at Longridge Activity Centre, our home since 2011, is being demolished later this year, so we have to move to a new home.

The good news is that we've been offered a fantastic location at Great Marlow School, in the old caretaker's garage, but it will take a lot of work to convert it. And we'll need money we don't have at the moment.

We're looking at several options for the site. But we'd like to raise as much as we can so that we have a new home to be proud of, some much-needed new equipment, and a base from which we can do even more in the community, including with local schools.

Why should you help us make this happen?

We at Marlow FM are passionate about our community, and provide what we think is a much valued service.

Our schedule of programmes is varied, and ranges from our popular Breakfast and Drivetime shows, to specialist music shows and programmes that cover local, environmental, health, business, and consumer issues. There’s something for everyone.

We also do many successful outside broadcasts each year, bringing local events to the homes of those who cannot attend in person - events such as the Marlow Town Regatta and Festival, the local Remembrance Sunday service, and the Christmas lights switch-on.

We've collaborated with local initiatives, such as Meals from Marlow, and we won an award for our work on Marlow’s Quiet Night In during lockdown.

We’re also a voice for national initiatives, such as Fighting With Pride, and have helped to raise the profile of hundreds of charities and fundraising events in our local area and beyond.

Marlow FM is keen to give people an opportunity to learn the craft of radio broadcasting and production, and we’re so proud of several of our alumni who have gone on to work in the media industry.

We have a loyal local following, but we also reach people around the world, and have friends who regularly tune in online or listen on our fabulous homemade app. Listeners can also go to our website and listen again to anything they’ve missed.

So, yes, we’re proud of our station, and all it’s achieved so far, but we want to do so much more. We’re keen to work with more young people than we can at the moment, and give them a real insight into the wonderful world of radio broadcasting. Being based at Great Marlow School will make this easier for us, benefiting not only the pupils there, but all young people in the local area who are keen to get involved.

So please help us achieve our dream of building a fabulous new home by donating here and spreading the word to all your contacts.

We’re so grateful to all our supporters, and we look forward to continuing to serve our local community for many more years to come.
