New Shoe Day : One Thousand One City

One Thousand One City started as a project aimed at connecting the city of Indianapolis by running 1000 miles through its neighborhoods in 100 days. The goal is to meet its citizens, listen to their stories, and share what they have to say.
When the world often seems too big and disconnected, sometimes the best thing a person can do is to set out on their own two feet and simply meet people where they are at.
At its core, OTOC is about taking on a difficult challenge in order to achieve growth towards a better sense of connectedness and understanding to those around us.
As runners, we celebrate New Shoe Day because it represents a new opportunity to improve ourselves. But we feel that this should be shared, so we plan to do our part by providing this opportunity for others that we meet during OTOC.
Along with a cash card for a new pair of shoes and a new water bottle, we will be sharing this note:
“Getting a new pair of shoes is a really good feeling. A new pair of shoes can represent a new beginning towards a better version of yourself - perhaps through health and fitness, education, or even a job. We call this New Shoe Day. We believe everyone deserves equal opportunity to improve their lives and that no one should be held back from this opportunity - especially you. Please enjoy your very own New Shoe Day (NSD).”
We would very much appreciate your contribution towards NSD's for people we meet along this journey. Your contribution supports our efforts towards providing equal opportunity to all neighborhoods we venture to.
Our goal is to raise $5000 OR MORE. This represents a goal of providing 1 NSD ($50) for every day of OTOC (100 days).

On September 8th, 2020 we will be celebrating our 100th and final day of this One Thousand One City journey. We invite everyone to join us as we present a gift donation to Beyond Monumental specifically for their Monumental Kids Movement . The gift will be all of the funds in this GoFundMe less the gifts we have given out on this journey so far for New Shoe Day. Please join us for the celebration at 3pm on 9/8/20 at IPS School CFI 27 as we present the check and then head out for our final run! Thanks!
**OTOC and NSD are not nonprofit organizations, and therefore contributions will not be tax deductible at this time. 100% of funds contributed will go towards providing New Shoe Days to those we meet**
