New orthopaedic mattress for my disabled Dad.

Hi all....

My name is Daiga... I'm not usually one who is asking for help, but this time I simply have to overcome my comfort zone and ask for help.

This picture is me and my dad, picture taken may last year. Then my dad was strong man, with infection in his toe but still going strong. Doctors couldn't found the cause for infection and it was spreading fast so best option was to ampute the toe.

I August 2024 he had the surgery to remove the toe, surgery was successfull, but then month later in September he had a fall as leg went paralysed and broke the ankle with bad dislocation on the same leg. Break was really bad so In total there was 5 surgeries in 4 months where during last surgery he got sepsis and we nearly lost him. He was 5 days in ICU and we were told to say our goodbyes.. But we weren't ready to give up.

He slowly started to improve.... But since the fall in September my dad haven't been able to walk anymore and was told by doctors that due to his Injury on his ankle he will never walk again

So it's been now 9 moths my dad have been on bed not able to walk and live independently... He is in 24/7 care and is cared by my sisters. I go home as often as I can to help and been helping in every way I could.. But unfortunately slowly all our financial sources and savings are gone and we desperately need new orthopaedic mattresses for our dad as his old mattress is now in very bad condition and is splitting in half's from flipping over all the time.

The new mattress would cost us now starting from 700€ and up.. It's been very hard times for all of us lately.. So even just 2€ will be a big support for all of us to give our dad new mattress.

In the picture it's me and my dad in December 2024 after he have been transported home from hospital as no nursing homes were available and no rehabilitation centers would take him as he wasn't able to do anything himself.
