Help new mama and daddy move before baby arrives

My name is Melanie Andrade Williams, and I am fundraising to help my lil sis Chanelle and her husband Jean move into their new home before the arrival of their first child, a very loved baby girl Olivia. My sister has struggled with PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) for years and didn't know if she would ever conceive, though she's always wanted to be a mother. So, after trying for so long and almost giving up, they were over the moon when they found out they were finally expecting a baby.

Now with the baby coming soon (due end of June) they are preparing to move into a larger home that isn't a four-story trek upstairs like their current apartment. The funds will go towards their first and last months rent and security deposit at their new home. Because of the PCOS, this hasn't been an easy pregnancy and my sister is a beloved High School teacher who is often on her feet, which has been wearing on her body.

I am raising these funds so that she and her husband can focus on preparing for their new bundle of joy and stress a little less about their moving process. Any little bit helps, and sharing this gofundme and my sisters story is also very helpful and much appreciated!

If you know me personally you know I'm a reproductive justice organizer and public health professional in Florida. Reproductive justice is the right to have kids, not to have kids, and to nurture the children we do have in safe and healthy environments. It's not lost on me that we are about to commemorate Black Maternal Health Week April 11-17th and I find myself advocating for and helping my all-grown-up baby sis through the process of becoming a mother. I have three little ones of my own so it means the world to me to help my sis navigate this monumental moment.
