I have been in discussions with the Board and Management of Gulab Devi Hospital (gulabdevi.org/) - one of the oldest government run hospitals in Lahore, Pakistan - comprising 1,500 beds and a teaching hospital (Al-Aleem Medical College), to help construct a 3-story building to meet the ever-increasing demand for teaching facilities and to upgrade AAMC to a medical university. After a number of in-person meetings recently, the hospital’s Board has approved allotment of the plot to build 3 auditorium style lecture halls with a seating capacity of 250 students each. The estimated cost of the building, including all furniture and fixtures, is around CAD$750k and I'm committing a significant portion of this personally. I am aiming to break ground next month and hand-over the finished building to AAMC’s management in the next 15-18 months.
While a Project Manager is being appointed, I will be heavily involved throughout and approve all payments, which will be settled directly with suppliers/contractors etc. without any involvement of AAMC staff, hence there is no room for any misappropriation of funds.
I would like to humbly request you to donate funds towards this charitable project (zakaat and sadqah accepted), either as a lump sum or in monthly installments over the next 15-18 months.
