New HUB for performing arts

We are The Performance Academy, an award winning performing arts school founded in 2008 with classes across Glasgow, South Lanarkshire, East Renfrewshire and West Lothian.

We run classes 7 days a week in musical theatre, drama, singing, dance, acting for stage and screen, music, show production classes & more!

For years we have tried to purchase our own premises for our students to call home.

Finally in 2023 we managed to secure former office premises in Cambuslang and our dreams of having a home for our wonderful students was born!

We have big and exciting plans for the 4000sq ft building!

A project of this scale has came with significant costs and while the costs are excessively high we don’t want to give up on our dream of having our own creative hub and studios in Cambuslang.

Our new HQ will feature:

-2 drama studios

-a recording studio

-a dance studio

-class rooms

-music room

-Talent agency offices

-Screen acting room

-library

-sensory & mini performers room

-costume room & much more!

By having our own premises we will be able to raise the standard of our teaching considerably & offer many more courses in high quality facilities. We will also be able to build strong community connections and open our building and classes for everyone’s use.

A big part of us having our studios will allow us to continue to grow and build more connections within our local community. We are passionate about the benefits performing arts provide and we want to grow in our local area and work with more members and community groups.

Where we need help! Our total completion costs for total refurb and full new M&E works is over £400,000.

We are fundraising for our main community room with stage. This space will be used to deliver weekly community classes allowing us to invite local schools, nurseries, ASN groups and charities into our building to receive sessions in positive mental health and wellbeing through the arts.

We are the leading training ground for young performers in Scotland and our students can be seen across BBC, Netflix, in Uk theatre tours and more!

We can’t wait to share building work updates and invite the local community into our new hub. We are passionate about having more facilities for local children in Cambuslang.
