Mr. Smith is New Hope Elementary’s janitor. He also works a second job at Pizza Hut delivering pizzas. He has a heart of gold and absolutely loves every single child and staff member at New Hope. You can find him doing just about anything you can ask of him, with a huge smile on his face! Unfortunately, Mr. Smith’s current vehicle has seen better days. It is held together by chains, bungy cords, and some duct tape. He uses that vehicle to not only commute to work but to work his second job to earn extra income for his grandchildren he is helping raise.
Our PTO at New Hope Elementary have rallied together with a determination of getting Mr. Smith a new vehicle. By the gracious generosity of Hubert Vester Chevrolet, they are helping us achieve this goal! We need to raise funds to purchase his new vehicle, and the dealership is giving it to us at a steal of a price as a donation without any additional fees. So some of the money will be used to purchase the car, while the remaining funds will be used for gas cards, grocery cards, or whatever else he may need it for!
We sincerely thank each and every one who is helping to make this dream a reality for him. It is a surprise - so please don’t mention this to him! We do need as much help as possible throughout our school and community to pull this off! Please consider donating something and sharing his story!
