Hello everyone,

in 2022 my husband and I traveled to Uganda and got to meet a wonderful small orphanage in Entebbe. In Uganda orphanages are not funded nor supported by the government and they rely solely on donations. Godfrey, the director of the orphanage who has dedicated his life to it in the past 25 years, had a difficult time providing for all the 60 children, aged 6 month - 18 years, who live and also attend school in the orphanage, especially during CoVid. So, over time staying in contact and also traveling back we became close and started supporting the orphanage back in 2022. We were able to built a new solid roof (it had lots of leaks and easy for mosquitoes to get in) got new mattress’s, bedding sheets and pillows as well as hiring a new teacher. The money we are trying to collect for them will support the children’s needs (school supplies, medical, clothes), repair certain things as well as hiring 3 new teachers since the orphanage keeps growing. The money donated will be going 100% to the orphanage directly and will be used carefully. We have weekly meetings with the children’s centre and help/support them getting things done. Apart from the teachers, everyone there works on a voluntary basis.

Update: Thank you for your donation! With the first 1000$, among other things, we were able to buy a water purification system and pump and have it installed. Now the children have drinking water at the orphanage. This was only possible due to your donation. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts
