Hi, my name is Lucy and today I am reaching out to the community to help my friend Lucy (yes, we have the same name <3) and her daughter.
Her cargo bike got stolen recently and some days later her fridge broke down.
I am doing this fundraiser to help her out. As a singlemum that is living on the edge to poverty she has no money on her side for such emergencies and she can't ask her family to help. The Cargo Bike is essential for her and her daughters everyday life.
Some examples how she uses the bike:
- Mobility, she can move through Vienna pretty fast with it which is important because she needs to bring and pick up her daughter to childcare everyday before work.
- She can transport more then one child at once with it. Lucy often looks after her friends or sisters kids and needs transportation for them and their stuff.
- On weekends she can be in the nature or further outside of the city center and spend quality time with her daughter.
- She can go on holidays which she usually cant afford otherwise.
- She can do big groceries shopping with it. Without the cargo bike its almost impossible task because she cant carry everything by herself.
- She can carry bigger things like furniture or other stuff you normally need a car.
The list goes on and on.
She is a very strong and independent woman, she works very hard, studies and always does a lot of community work. But no matter how positive she is and how she keeps on working, her life is hard. And now her fridge broke down as well and she is recovering from a burn out.
Its a lot right now.
