New Bike for Mike 'The Can Man' Mahon
Donation protected
On August 8th, while shopping at CVS, Mike 'The Can Man' Mahon had his bike stolen.
This fundraiser will be used to get Mike a new bike, a heavy-duty lock, an airtag, and any extra money will go directly to him.
In short, Mike is a Framingham character devoted to environmentalism and recycling, and FHS track, cross-country, and the sport as a whole throughout the state, riding his bike to and attending over 2000 meets spanning decades. After years of calling into WAAF radio - he rose to prominence when Greg Hill, gave him the moniker Mike The Can Man, and invited him on to the show as a regular guest. While WAAF picked fun at Mike, he promoted cross-country and recycling.
When Mike isn't headed to a cross-country meet, he's riding his bike, collecting cans, and this is what he's truly famous for locally. He collects thousands upon thousands of cans annually, in fact, at the end of any given successful day, you might see him riding his bike down Concord Street, with two giant bags of cans slung over his shoulders, headed to Framingham Liquors for redemption. In those bags, he claims to be able to carry 800.
That was until today, when Mike's preferred form of transportation for these activities, has been taken from him.
With this fundraiser we don't only want to replace the bike stolen, we want to thank Mike 'The Can Man' Mahon for being an integral piece of the fabric of Framingham.
Thank you!
