Dear Donors,
Happy Holidays! We hope you saw our update on the Afghan family in Richmond that we sent in our last communication. It is thanks to donors like you that they had a smooth transition into their new lives in the United States. We raised over $8000 in our 2024-25 fundraiser to support our first family who resettled to Richmond, VA. Our coffers are now empty and we are re-initiating this campaign to assist a new family who we expect to arrive in the very near term in Northern Virginia. Thank you for your ongoing support!
Our group has committed to sponsoring a new refugee or Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) family. We are again working with our NGO partner, the Community Sponsorship Hub. Despite the recent changes in administration policy and the review of green card and SIV holders, the Hub assures us that there are still families arriving who will need our support. We are therefore urgently reinitiating our fundraising efforts to support the transition of a new family who will arrive legally in the United States in the very near future.
We ask that you consider a donation in your year-end giving. These funds will go toward acquiring housing, household items, clothing, food, and educational expenses necessary to help the family get on their feet. Every donation counts! Additionally, if you would kindly share this appeal within your social networks, we would greatly appreciate it!
We commit to keeping you updated as we have a “match” with a new family.
