“Two Survivors, One Hope: A New Beginning”

Hello, my name is Russell and I am reaching out because I am in desperate need of help. In the past two years, I lost my sister, my brother-in-law, my father, and my stepmother — one heartbreak after another. As if that wasn’t enough, I was also robbed of everything I owned. Now I am homeless, struggling every single day just to survive.

The weight of this grief, combined with severe mental health struggles, has made it almost impossible to stand back up on my own. I need help — urgently — to find a safe place to live, to get the care I need, and to begin piecing my life back together.

Throughout this time, I have been surviving alongside my nephew, who is now without both of his parents. As his uncle and the last close family he has, I am doing everything I can to give him a stable home, the chance to stay in school, and the opportunity to have the future he deserves — including a college education and a safe place to grow into the man he is becoming.

It's hard to lose both parents within 3 months of each other (and 2 grandparents), but he also lost his sense of feeling safe and secure and is currently living in a local shelter for young adults. I personally feel that my duty as an uncle and a brother is to help him and guide him through this difficult period in life and really want to be able to create a relationship that will help both of us stay strong together in this difficult time.

How Donations Will Be Used:

All donations will go directly toward rebuilding stability for my nephew and myself.

Specifically, funds will be used to:

• Secure safe, stable housing so we have a place to live and heal.

• Cover basic living expenses such as food, clothing, and transportation.

• Help my nephew stay enrolled in school, with needed supplies and support.

• Access necessary mental health care services to cope with trauma and loss.

• Save toward my nephew’s college education to give him the future he deserves.

• Support relocation costs if a job opportunity becomes available in a new area.
