Over a decade ago, the Alveston community came together to do something incredible. Through cake sales, local events, and training sessions, residents raised funds to install two life-saving Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in the village. Since 2014, these devices have been quietly standing by—ready to save lives when it matters most.

The current AEDs are now over 10 years old and reaching the end of their service life. To ensure reliability in an emergency, they must be replaced with modern, up-to-date models.

These devices are critical in cases of Sudden Cardiac Arrest, where every second counts.

Emergency services can take vital minutes to arrive

A nearby AED can double or even triple survival rates

Our AEDs have been used around 5 times in the last 2 years. They are truly making a difference.

A dedicated team of four local volunteers regularly maintain the AEDs—checking batteries, pads, and ensuring they are always ready for use.

Their commitment keeps these devices operational, but now the equipment itself needs replacing.
