First I’d like to start by saying that I know this time of year is hard for everyone. If you are unable to help financially, please share this and if nothing else please keep Nevaeh in your prayers.
Many of you have been following the Facebook updates. If you haven’t here is a quick synopsis—
Nevaeh stopped using her legs all together last week. She had zero other symptoms; no pain, no crying, no sickness at all. Chris brought her to NCH ER where they ran tests that came back normal. They consulted with DHMC who requested she be transferred there. That next day she underwent an MRI and lumbar puncture. She came out fine and was her happy self (minus the use of her legs). Everything went crazy and she aspirated on her vomit. DHMC intubated and sedated her and made the decision to ship her to Boston Children’s Hospital where she has been since very early Thursday morning (12/5). There have been multiple assessments and tests run and she has been sedated and intubated for more than half of the time she’s been there. When she has been up, she is not fully herself and is now not able to sit up on her own and does not have good neck control. There is still no clear diagnosis or clear idea of what is causing this all and more testing is in the works. In the meantime we sit and wait.
Nevaeh’s Dad has been by her side through all of this while we have her little sister here. Times are tough, Chris is unable to work, and Christmas is right around the corner. Any funds raised will go towards the common good of Nevaeh, Sophia, and Chris.
