We are Mona Sobhani, PhD and Allison Paradise, two neuroscientists passionate about bridging science and spirituality. For the past three years, we have organized Science & Spirituality Events at the Society for Neuroscience annual conference, creating a welcoming space for open discussion about consciousness, mystical experiences, and the nature of reality. These events have grown into a vibrant community, with attendees meeting virtually every month to continue the conversation and support one another.

This year, we are excited to host our fourth Neuroscience & Spirituality Social on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 7pm-10pm at the San Diego Hilton Bayfront (Rm Cobalt 501).

The event is open to everyone—scientists, students, the general public, and anyone curious about consciousness. Our goal is to foster curiosity, encourage exploration of topics often considered taboo, and provide a safe space for sharing personal stories. Many attendees have told us that these gatherings have changed their lives, giving them the courage to speak openly about experiences they had never shared before.

Organizing these events comes with significant costs, including venue rental, conference fees, and travel expenses.
