Network of Love Travel Fund - Jessica Hyba's kids
Jessica was a devoted mother, an incredible friend and a humanitarian. She passed away with her partner in the Ethiopian Airlines plane crash on the 10th of March. Their families and friends are devastated.
Jessica’s two wonderful daughters, Ayla 12 and Othea 9, have many friends and family across the globe - a wide network of love and friendship which Jess created and cherished.
Ayla and Othea currently live in Jordan with their father Arnaud Blazy, due to his current posting with UNHCR. Their grandparents, uncle, aunts and many close family members and friends are far away in Barbados and Canada. They also have grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins in France, and two stepsisters in Italy - who also lost their father, Jessica’s partner, in the plane crash. Jessica made close and loving friendships in all the places she lived, leaving behind many who would like to stay in close contact and actively support the girls in the years to come.
This campaign is to raise funds for Ayla and Othea’s travel so that the loving relationships, bonds and connections that Jess forged for her girls can be maintained. Prior to the tragic accident of 10th of March, Ayla and Othea travelled unaccompanied to visit family and friends. It is no longer possible for them to travel without a trusted family member or friend by their side, which has financial implications.
With your contributions, no matter how small, we can help enable Ayla and Othea to stay connected to their loved ones in Barbados, Canada, France, Italy, and around the world.
A return adult ticket between Jordan and Canada costs around 2000 Canadian Dollars. Therefore, our initial target to raise 25,000 Canadian Dollars will cover the flight costs of the accompanying adult for about a dozen trips. Funds donated will be transferred to a dedicated account set up by Jessica's Estate Trustee (Adam Kalbfleisch, her cousin). Thereafter, funds will be withdrawn when necessary to cover accompanying adult travel costs for visits to family and friends.
