Nestling House Relief
Nestling House is a childcare provider located in the Bay View neighborhood of Milwaukee, WI. In response to the Corona virus/ COVID-19 crisis, and in alignment with the guidance of the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) in Wisconsin it has sadly shut its doors. Nestling House has committed to paying all staff through the end of March. Without continued tuition payments from families during the ongoing closure, Nestling House will not have funds available to continue paying the amazing child care team who depend on their regular paycheck to cover housing costs, student loans, and basic needs.
We set our goal at $18,000 which will cover three weeks of take home pay for all of the staff (excluding the owners, who will forgo any salary at this time of crisis). This will allow the staff to count on their regular income through April 21st while hanging on to their remaining paid time off benefit provided by Nestling House for when the program re-opens so that they aren't left with nothing for the rest of the year.
Not having to pay out remaining paid time off will also allow Nestling House to cover some of their on-going costs like utilities, city services, and insurance that cannot be cancelled or delayed.
If additional funds are raised we will offer staff the opportunity to request additional assistance as needed during this unprecedented time. Funds raised beyond what Nestling House staff need will be donated to a local non-profit in the Milwaukee community in need.
We will be forever grateful for any who can support this cause! I personally can attest that I am so grateful for the Nestling House and the exceptional daycare services it provides. Further, they have been an important advocate within the Bay View community.
Now is a time for us all to come together. We hope you and your family are staying safe and well. #SmallBusinessRelief
