Hi, I’m Sofia Nera, a DJ and event host in Chicago. I love creating spaces where people come together through something we all share, music, and where everyone can feel at home.

I grew up around restaurants, so I’ve seen how food, music, and a welcoming room can bring people together. That’s why it means so much to host this fundraiser at Rica Arepa, a local Venezuelan restaurant.

Through NERA, I’m organizing this event to support people affected by the devastating earthquakes in Venezuela. Two powerful quakes collapsed buildings and left communities with urgent medical needs.

All funds raised will go to Direct Relief’s Venezuela Earthquake Response, which is providing medical supplies, nutritional products,, hygiene kits and more for displaced families. Direct Relief commits that 100% of your donation will be dedicated exclusively to Venezuela earthquake response efforts.

You don’t have to be Venezuelan to care, and you don’t have to know someone affected to make a difference. If you can’t attend, you can still give here, and every share helps us reach more people.
