16 MEDICAL REGIMENT TRAILWALKER TEAM - BGWT Trail walker 2026 (100 KM)

In September 2026, a team from 16 Medical Regiment will take part in the BGWT Trail walker 2026, organized annually by the Queen's Gurkha Signals Regiment and the Gurkha Welfare Trust, the event takes place along the challenging routes of the South Downs Way and surrounding areas between 11-13 September 2026.

A team of four participants, Cpl Gurung(181 CAT DEPT), LCpl Limbu (181 MT), Cpl Thapa (23 ODP), Pte Malla (23 SQN) supported by a dedicated support crew from 16 Medical Regiment, Capt Fianko (181 Sqn 2IC) & Sgt Gurung(181 EH) will undertake this ultra-marathon endurance challenge, testing their physical and mental resilience across arduous terrain and demanding conditions.

Aim

Alongside participating in Trail walker 2026, the team has chosen to support an additional charitable cause by raising funds for Nepal Flood Relief.

Catastrophic flash floods have swept through communities along the Bhote Koshi River system, claiming lives, destroying homes and critical infrastructure, and leaving many people displaced. Remote communities throughout the Himalayan region have been severely affected as recovery and rescue efforts continue.

Funds raised will help provide both urgent humanitarian assistance and long-term recovery support to those affected by this devastating disaster. Donations will contribute towards emergency relief, rebuilding communities, restoring livelihoods, and supporting families during their recovery.
