Hi, my name is Rico, and I’m reaching out during one of the most difficult times of my life.

In June 2023, I bought myself a birthday gift: my very first car from a dealership. It was a huge milestone for me—something I worked hard for and was proud of. Less than a year later, in May 2024, that car was stolen from the parking lot at my workplace.

Since then, my life has been a constant uphill battle.

The car was never recovered. My insurance company declared it a total loss, but unfortunately, they didn’t cover the full value of the car—or the $3,000 worth of work tools inside that belonged to my boss. I had to use all of my savings to repay him for those tools.

To keep working, I scraped together enough to buy a used car. But now I’m stuck paying off two vehicles: one I still drive, and one I no longer have. I’m upside down by more than $11,000, and the pressure is getting heavier every day.

On top of that, without reliable transportation at the time, I lost my second job.

I’ve done everything I can to stay afloat—working hard, staying hopeful, trying to rebuild—but this setback has left me overwhelmed. That’s why I’ve turned to GoFundMe. I truly didn’t want to ask for help, but I can’t do this alone anymore.
