Casey Williams has been battling Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC) and Autoimmune Hepatitis (AIH) for many years. PSC is a very rare and chronic liver disease with no known cure other than transplantation. Casey finally received approval from UVA Health to seek a living donor. This was the news Casey's family has been praying for! In a remarkable turn of events, Casey's husband Neil stepped forward to be tested and against all odds the surgical team at UVA confirmed that he is a perfect match! Their surgeries will occur on April 9.

Both Casey and Neil have spent their careers giving to others. Casey has been a dedicated public school teacher for the past 20 years (7 in Virginia Beach, 13 in Hampton). She has continued to work full time while battling her illnesses. Neil has served as a first responder as a Virginia Beach Fire Captain (15 years) and former Virginia Beach Police Officer (4 years).
