Update on My Dad, Neil

This past year has been incredibly tough for my dad. After going through multiple surgeries and having three femurs replacements while fighting a persistent leg infection, we received hard news on Thursday, April 17th. The surgeon has decided that the best course of action now is a full leg amputation, as the infection just won’t clear.

Neil and Tanya will be heading back to Vancouver for the surgery. After about a week and a half of recovery, he’ll be transferred to Nanaimo Regional Hospital for rehabilitation.

We’re staying hopeful and focusing on his strength and determination through it all. Thank you to everyone who has checked in, supported us, and kept him in your thoughts.
