Trust. Trust has been broken and as a community church, West Court Street Church of God has been a staple in the community. Through our Neighbors First campaign we have intentionally established a position of understanding that our neighbor literally comes first. Since the beginning of the crisis in Flint, West Court Church has been involved in distributing water - either through our own efforts or by partnering with the state to host a Point of Distribution.
No funds are used for payroll, distribution or transportation - every dollar through this campaign will be used for purchase of water and forklift rental (An estimated 500$). What this price covers is 20 pallets of water from Sam's Club and a forklift rental. Each pallets costs $143.04 (when purchased as 20 pallets, a bit more if bought individually). Can you, or your organization, afford $150 to fund one pallet?
When we raise enough, we will hold a distribution. Our target date for this campaign is October 5th, 2019. Our distribution time will be that Saturday from 12-3PM at our location in Flint. 2920 West Court Street. That location is centered around 5,154 homes that are within a one-mile radius on the southwest side of Flint.
Amongst this and other things, our church is also a polling site and a familiar landmark for our community. We have worked hard to make sure we do distribution the best way possible and would love to have you or your organization not only donating but volunteering.
