Neglected dog Mickey needs your help now!

We have been contacted about a distressing case of neglect. This small dog has endured a terrible life, being neglected and left outside for the majority of the time, with minimal human interaction. When a concerned neighbor questioned the owner about their lack of care for the dog, they callously replied, "I don't care for it. I'm just waiting for it to die." The dog has also been observed wandering around the neighborhood consistently in search of food. Feeling compelled to take action, we decided to approach the owners and persuade them to surrender the dog. We were able to visit the location and see the dog, but unfortunately, we couldn't establish a connection with the owners. The dog clearly lacks proper socialization and tends to bark or snap at unfamiliar people. However, this setback did not lessen our determination to rescue the dog.

It took multiple attempts, but we ultimately succeeded in taking custody of the dog, although it was no easy task. His name is Mickey, and due to the severe lack of socialization, he is extremely wary of strangers and being touched. This complicated matters when we brought him to the vet's office. No one was able to get near Mickey, so the only viable solution was to sedate him for an examination and a thorough shave. We can only speculate what we will find beneath the layers of matted fur and dried feces—whether there are any significant illnesses or injuries. Nevertheless, as always, we promise to do whatever it takes to give him a second chance at life. Will you please assist us in this endeavor?
